The COLIBRí racial equity cohort is working towards shifting the way the community and government work together. It is meant to lay the foundation for creating spaces and opportunities for residents to assert their power and work in true collaboration with leaders within the system that are ready and willing to make changes. The vision of this work is that the systems and structures that shape the lives of community members are working together collaboratively toward lifting up children, youth, families and residents that have been harmed the most by racial inequities. Individuals most impacted are centered in decision-making spaces to transform the culture and policies, identifying and using their collective power to take ownership of institutions/systems.
